Check in and check out were both fast and efficient, and no deposit was required which is a huge plus, GSAs were polite. The room is clean, and spacious enough, and the bed and pillows are comfortable, and the room full of all the amenities that you need. However the TV is not a smart TV, no Netflix or YouTube, and mostly Thai channels only. The biggest issue is the air conditioning. Guests have no control over the AC in the room, you cannot adjust the temperature, fan speed, or turn it on or off yourself. Even simple situations, like wanting to turn the AC off temporarily, require calling reception, this is very inconvenient. Guests have different comfort needs throughout the day and night, for example while showering and you wanna turn it off to avoid catching a cold. It is not possible without calling reception. Having to contact the front desk every time for such basic adjustments is not really guest-friendly. The gym is very small and has almost no machines, so it’s quite limited. Restaurant staff were friendly, the food was good, and room service was good.

We had a very pleasant 8-night stay and would happily come back. The room was bright, clean, and spacious enough for a comfortable stay. During our 8 days, we received fresh towels three times, and when we kindly asked if the bed sheets could be changed, the staff happily took care of it. We really appreciated their kindness and willingness to help. The hotel staff and owners are incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming. They always made us feel comfortable and were genuinely caring throughout our stay. The view from the room is pleasant both during the day and at night. It is also a quiet room overall. The only occasional disturbance was some construction work early in the morning on one or two days, but it wasn't a major issue. The air conditioning worked perfectly and kept the room nice and cool. We especially appreciated that it includes a cleaning/anti-mold function, as we've had unpleasant experiences with moldy-smelling air conditioners in other hotels (like) before. The location is excellent. Directly across the street is a huge shopping center with a large Lotus's supermarket and many other well-known stores. It is also only about a 10-minute taxi ride to the city center. Services like Grab (Taxi, Food, and Mart), iDrive, LINEMAN, as well as the 7-Eleven and Lotus's apps all worked perfectly from this location, making it very convenient. The only downside during our stay was the Wi-Fi on the 6th floor. The signal was already weak in our room, and during the last three or four days it unfortunately stopped working completely. Thankfully, we had a True SIM card with mobile data, so we were still able to browse the internet and even stream movies without any problems. The lobby also offers drinks and snacks for purchase. Prices are only slightly higher than in the supermarket. As a small suggestion rather than criticism, it could be a nice bonus if these were offered at supermarket prices, as some hotels do. It would be a lovely way to stand out even more and add extra value for guests. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you to everyone for your hospitality - we truly enjoyed our time here and would gladly recommend this hotel to others!

La Malila Hostel is a solid pick if you want a cheap, comfortable private room with kitchen amenities in Udon Thani. ⸻ 💰 Price & Value • Prices start from about US $9–16 per night for private or dorm options, making it extremely budget-friendly . • Guests consistently rate value for money around 9.0, with overall scores between 8.6–8.8/10 . ⸻ 🛏 Comfort & Rooms • Private rooms are described as cozy, clean, modern, with comfortable beds and air conditioning . • Though compact, many say “small but perfectly formed.” One guest noted a mattress dip but promptly switched rooms to solve the issue . • Bunk/dorm rooms come with shared bathrooms, ample space, air-con, and daily housekeeping . ⸻ 🍳 Kitchen & Amenities • There’s a shared kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, toaster, cookware, and utensils—ideal for preparing simple meals . • 24-hour coffee/tea is available in a cozy lounge area . • Other perks include free Wi‑Fi, free private parking, a bar/lounge, and a chill garden/TV room . ⸻ 📍 Location • Excellent location—5–10 min walk from the train station, bus station, UD Town, food courts, night markets, and Central Plaza . • Guests highlight convenience: “near the Bus and Train Station”, “5 min walk to bars…food centre” . ⸻ 🙌 Staff & Atmosphere • Staff are praised as helpful, friendly, and responsive, often going above and beyond—like assisting lost passports or offering local tips . • Atmosphere is sociable yet relaxed, with a welcoming lounge/bar staff environment . ⸻ ⚠️ Things to Consider • Rooms are on the small side, so not ideal for people wanting lots of space . • Kitchen lacks a stovetop—frying or cooking full meals isn’t possible . • No elevator; stairs required—may be inconvenient with heavy luggage . • Some dorm areas might have occasional odours; ventilation could be better . ⸻ ✅ Final Verdict La Malila Hostel delivers excellent value: private, clean, and compact rooms, a practical shared kitchen, useful amenities (Wi‑Fi, parking, lounge), and a top-tier location. Ideal for budget-minded travellers who care more about comfort and convenience than space. Staff friendliness and hostel vibe seal the deal. Rating: 4.5 / 5 ⸻

This is what you can call a homey hotel, as it is built in a big contempolarly 2-storey house, with no elevator. There is only a staff at the front desk, so you may have to take care of yourself, even the staff is friendly and willing to help. We had a problem with the water heater, but they fixed it as soon as on the day we informed them. At their price with the service got, this place is still worthy to have a stay 😁

The hotel's location is excellent, with shopping, massages, and dining all conveniently close by. 7-11 and a night market are within a 10-minute walk. The breakfast offers a great variety, and the front desk staff are wonderful, always smiling. Definitely worth rebooking in the future!

A very pleasant hotel. I stayed here for quite a long time. Not all staff speak English fluently, but they genuinely try to help, which is appreciated. The hotel is located a bit far from the “central” part of Udon, but that’s not really an issue — taxis are plentiful, and you can quickly get anywhere you need. Near the hotel, you’ll find many local shops where you can buy pretty much everything you need. The room itself is quite spacious, and the bed is comfortable — not too firm. Housekeeping can be done every day upon request. They also provide two bottles of water daily (even if you’re not in the room, they’ll leave them by your door), which is a nice touch. Be careful with food in the room — don’t leave it out for too long, or you’ll get a full parade of ants :) It’s not a big deal, but it might bother some people. Ants are common across Thailand, so this isn’t really the hotel’s fault. Overall, I recommend it. It’s not quite a full 5-star experience yet, but it definitely deserves a solid 4 stars.

The hotel offers good value for the price, and the staff were generally helpful and polite. It is also located very close to the airport — less than 10 minutes away — which can be convenient for early flights. However, there were several issues during my stay. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, and although the wet and dry areas were technically separated, the floor design did not drain water properly. Since the floor levels were almost the same and there was no proper barrier, water spread into the dry area every time I showered. Transportation was also quite inconvenient. It was very difficult to book a Grab in this area, and I had to wait a long time before finding a driver. If you plan to stay here for an early morning flight, I would recommend leaving extra time for transportation. The hotel does provide a taxi service for around 200 THB, but the response was quite vague and depended on driver availability, so it may not be ideal for travelers in a hurry. Personally, staying in the city center might be a better option, as the area around the hotel is quite quiet and there is not much nearby.

During my visit, the key was location and value. The latter was terrific. The hotel is extraordinarily convenient and a short walk to Central Plaza. Even though it’s on a main street, rooms (moderate size ) in the back of the hotel are remarkably quiet. The rooftop pool (7th fl) is accessible only by a long climb up two sets of stairs. The exercise room is small and in need of renovation.

Overall, the room condition was very good, exactly as pictured. The staff provided good service. However, the Wi-Fi was quite slow, only showing one bar, making it almost unusable. I had to go to the counter myself to ask for the Wi-Fi username and password.
